The digital commodity buying points are tech enhanced commodity deposit kiosks in local grain markets across Nigeria. The system allows sellers to weigh their produce, check quality specs, take images, and deposit them in exchange for cash. It also enables sellers to deposit collected waste in exchange for payment. Equipped with a camera, microphone, weighing scale, and sensors, the system will provide information on the quality of the produce and its market value.
The project seeks to improve the efficiency and transparency of the commodity trading process and provide a scalable and sustainable platform for the collection of market data. Currently we have deployed 5 of these kiosks:
• Dawanau Market Kano, • Ningi, Bauchi • Kwanar Dangora Kano • Saminaka, Kaduna • Giwa, Kaduna
